Every Mind Matters: Improving Young People’s Mental Health
On Thursday 6th March, Professor Stella Chan presented her public lecture, ‘Every Mind Matters: Improving Young People’s Mental Health’, at the University of Reading. Stella discussed the latest research about young people’s mental health, and passionately explained why we need to develop interventions to support children and young people to develop positive wellbeing. Stella discussed the interventions she has developed at the University and presented the research on Project Soothe, sharing how the project has been effective in improving mood symptoms and provided a way to self-soothe oneself during times of distress.
Stella was joined by members of the local community, teachers, and others interested in her work. They were able to ask questions about the project, understand how it was developed, and take home some of the postcards which have been created from the submitted photos. The full lecture is available to view on the University of Reading’s Youtube pageĀ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aLeCeoygxb4
